Credit Reporting for Contractors

They didn't pay.

What we actually do

Reporting is the product.

Bureau Reporting was built for businesses that are tired of unpaid invoices disappearing into the accounting system. We provide the reporting infrastructure and account servicing needed to keep legitimate debts moving toward the credit file.

01

TransUnion + Equifax

Your eligible account is prepared and furnished through our bureau reporting process so the debt is no longer simply sitting in your accounts-receivable system.

02

Disputes & VOD

When an account is disputed, we manage the documentation, verification and response process. We also handle verification-of-debt letters when required.

03

Ongoing Account Management

You provide the account information and supporting documentation. We manage the reporting relationship while you get back to running your business.

Why Bureau Reporting exists

Accountability gives a legitimate debt a path forward.

You did the work. The customer received the benefit. When a legitimate balance goes unpaid, reporting creates accountability without requiring you to spend your day chasing the same invoice. Accurate reporting can also give the person who owes the money a clear reason to do the right thing — resolve the balance, make payments, or dispute the account if they believe it is wrong.

01 / Fairness

Businesses deserve to be paid.

A contractor or service business has already invested labor, materials, time and overhead. A legitimate unpaid balance should not simply disappear because the customer stopped responding.

02 / Accountability

Reporting creates a reason to resolve it.

Credit reporting gives an unpaid account another place to exist beyond your accounts-receivable system. The goal is accountability, not harassment.

03 / Opportunity

People can make it right.

A person who owes a legitimate debt can pay it, communicate about it, or dispute it. Keeping an account active in the reporting process gives resolution a practical path.

04 / Integrity

Accurate reporting protects both sides.

We focus on legitimate, supportable accounts and manage disputes and verification requests. The standard is simple: report what is owed and handle the account responsibly.

✓
Reporting is not about punishment. It is about accountability. Give legitimate debts a place to be resolved while giving the business that earned the money a fair way to stand behind its invoice.

Questions

Before you send the first account.

What kinds of businesses use Bureau Reporting?

Contractors, trades, builders, general contractors, service companies and other businesses that invoice customers and encounter unpaid balances.

What do I need to submit?

Generally, we need the unpaid invoice along with the contract, work order or other documentation supporting the account, plus the identifying information you have for the person responsible for the debt.

Can you report an LLC or corporation?

Business debts and consumer credit reporting are different. Reporting to a consumer bureau requires an eligible natural person who is legally responsible for the account. We review the documentation during onboarding.

What happens if the debtor disputes the account?

We manage the dispute and verification process, including documentation and verification-of-debt responses when applicable.

Do I have to sue the customer?

No. Bureau Reporting is focused on reporting and account administration. Whether a creditor chooses to pursue separate legal action is outside our service.

What happens if the customer eventually pays?

Notify us when an account is paid so the account can be updated appropriately in the reporting process.
